Reports To: Head of Executive Education

The role of the Business Development Executive is to promote and sell our wide range of Executive Education courses to potential delegates.

The successful candidate will follow up a mix of warm leads generated provided by our marketing team as well as generating sales leads of their own. They will also develop key accounts with clients from a wide range of industry sectors to increase client spend.

The Business Development Executive must have an excellent understanding of our clients’ upskilling and development needs and be able to match them to our range of training products.

Roles and Responsibilities

·Work with the executive team to ensure an understanding of each course including the key learning outcomes

·Reach defined revenue targets for each executive education course

·Follow up on delegate feedback and up-sell / cross-sell our development courses

·Research target markets and feedback any findings to the executive education team

·Work with the marketing team to define a target market for each course

·Monitor and report on sales activity and key performance indicators

·Network with potential clients at industry events

·Generate enquiries / leads to convert into bookings

·Develop relationships with external supporters

Personal Specification

·Experience in b2b sales or business development role

·An understanding of the importance of relationship building

·A knowledge of sales techniques through the effective use of questioning and objection handling

·Self-motivated and disciplined in a fast paced sales environment

·Confident speaking to high level decision makers

·Strong communication skills including excellent telephone manner

·Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment

·Previous experience with sales targets

·Attention to detail and excellent time management
