Due to current expansion of our client they are looking to strengthening the Central procurement Dept with a Senior Officer.Responsibility will be to cover packages for UK projects involving subcontracts and equipment supply.The project buyer will manage projects procurement and the tender process for construction, mechanical, electrical and process packages, category management, supply chain management, tender process, negotiationYou should have experience as a project Buyer in construction with at least 3 years in purchasing and will have the opportunity to develop your career with this exciting company.Job Purpose :• Propose the procurement strategy for allocated projects and develop the national and regional supply chain to suit the demand of projects. • Manage projects procurement and the tender process for construction, mechanical, electrical and process packages. • Provide market competitive procurement solutions for the trade which demonstrate best overall value for money. • Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of sub-contractors and materials for strategic trades covering: Pre-construction advice and strategy for Bid Leader Construction stage project procurement for Project Leader, including: o Development of work package documents with project teams o Lead tender process o Lead Contract negotiations o Drafting of sub-contracts • Supply chain management of the strategic trades, including structuring the supply chain, carrying out performance and relationship management to drive improved performance/cost benefits. • Generate and encourage an efficient, productive and continuously improving supply chain performance within the trades • Support the group procurement functional goals and objectivesKey Responsibilities:Outsource, tender and negotiation: o Preparing tenders for (sub)contracts with suppliers / subcontractors o Developing tender analysis and presenting reports and recommendations to senior management o Ensure a robust process is applied with suppliers/subcontractors for the terms and conditions, rates and service provided o Demonstrate best overall value for money in the procurement recommendations • Management of suppliers/subcontractors o Develop an accredited and structured trade specific supply chain that is aligned to the national and regional business demand and overall strategy o Consistently monitor the trade specific market place to ensure awareness of pricing trends, risks and opportunities. o Continuously seek out and assess new supply chain members for the trade to meet national and regional project demand. o Monitor the supply chain performance, workload and financial status to protect the corporate position. o Develop the supply chain, products and innovations that bring cost, build ability and efficiency benefits. o To rationalise the supplier base and develop stronger purchasing leverage over key suppliers/Subcontractors For more information please get in touch with Allan Stevenson Senior Recruitment Consultant 07711425555
