We are currently looking for a Supplier Relationship/Contracts Manager with a legal background for a 12 month contract based in Birmingham.

Management of the Legal and Enforcement contract, circa £2-3M per annum. Develop and maintain an added value relationships with Legal Services providers to manage operational performance.


  • Strategic and operational management of a single legal provider, responsible for providing specialist legal advice to the Legal and Enforcement Team and litigation matters
  • Identifying and embedding added value partnership arrangements
  • Effectively managing the exit of the legacy contract arrangements so that quality, timeliness and costs are closely monitored and managed during the transitional period
  • Leading on legal contract management, commercial and compliance activities, developing and promoting strategies, policies and procedures to drive continuous improvement and achieve optimal performance of both the external legal provider and in-house team
  • Leading on developing, monitoring and managing defined performance standards, service level standards and KPIs
  • Achieving cost savings against agreed targets
  • Implementing contract management plans and effective supplier performance management tools and techniques
  • Ensuring that contingency plans and risk plans are in place and risks are managed effectively
  • Leading a project team to work with the new provider and stakeholders across Case Direction and Supervision to embed a new escalated case management team, which will focus on making prosecution decisions at the earliest possible opportunity

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: (Essential)

  • A strong background and proven track record in contract management within the legal market
  • A track record of delivering strong performance management and efficiencies within the supply chain
  • Excellent technical knowledge of SDT and litigation proceedings
  • Experienced in delivering best value through contracting and partnership arrangements
  • Experienced commercial negotiator
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
