The SF Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious manufacturing business in Birmingham on a permanent, full time basis.

My client is looking for a Purchasing Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Monitoring and chasing outstanding orders
  • Confirming delivery dates
  • Gathering weekly schedules from suppliers and checking them against the computer system
  • Maintaining and reviewing customers delivery schedules
  • Liaising with the warehouse - for goods in bookings
  • Managing all documentation
  • Tracking/tracing shipments
  • General Administration

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have good communication skills - telephone and email
  • Highly computer literate
  • Ability to manage data
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other software packages e.g. Microsoft Word and Photoshop
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work from own initiative
  • Organisation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
