We are preparing to open our next newly built facility in Birmingham in April 2017.Located in Maypole Grove in the King’s Heath area of Birmingham, this well-equipped 30-bedded unit will provide care for adults with acute physical and mental disabilities.We are now putting together an extraordinary team of nursing staff, care staff and support staff for Maypole Grove that are passionate about delivering quality care and helping our service users to live fulfilled lives as independently as they are able.About YouYou are a registered senior nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with a current PIN and passionate about what you do. You are well organised, able to make decisions and work on your own initiative whilst working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. You will be up-to-date with current evidence-based practice and have a working knowledge of CQC standards and regulations.Most importantly you are motivated by helping every individual, whether colleague or service user, to realise their full potential and be treated with dignity and respect.You’ll have great communication and leadership qualities to ensure that the unit runs effectively and efficiently, delivering a high standard of clinical care. What we offerAs an Exemplar nurse your work will be varied, stimulating and rewarding and you will be given real responsibility from the outset.On a day to day basis, you’ll have responsibility for clinical matters, people and general management duties. Whilst you’ll still be delivering hands-on nursing care, you’ll also be involved with:Conducting pre-admission assessments, assessing client care requirementsProviding safe and effective means for the ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of drugs Ordering clinical supplies to budget, ensuring safe storage, stock rotation and usageReviewing and documenting care plans on a regular basisParticipating in an on-call system to support the nurse in chargeDeputising for the Registered Home Manager where necessaryYour prospects for career development will be second to none because we support, nurture and develop all our staff; we recognise talent and commitment; we promote from within; and we have a programme of new home openings that will create early opportunities.
