SmithCorp is recruitment group in the UK encompassing six independent brands .We have offices in Bristol, Truro, Portishead & London and are headquartered in Bristol. We currently employ circa 180 staff across all locations with approximately 100 people in the Bristol office. We have been awarded Investors in People “Silver Status”.

Purpose of role

We are currently installing a brand new breakout area for our employees. SmithCorp has never previously had a communal leisure area for all brands to use. The business is growing quickly and is currently going through a re-branding & re-engineering process that will make it fit for the future. Part of the new SmithCorp offering will be a shared space where staff will be able to meet, relax, play games, get online and eat.

This space will incorporate a self service kitchen, communal eating and relaxed seating areas. It will also house a reception area, a meeting room and training facilities which will be in use during working hours on most days. Breakfast will be provided for all employees between the hours of 7am and 9am. They will be able to bring their own food to heat and eat in the space at lunch time. The space will also be used by different teams and brands for social events and collectively for a variety of morning and evening classes

This will be an exciting and important addition to the business. We hope it will improve current employee engagement and provide a great shop window to sell to prospective new employees.

Person specification

We are looking for a friendly, punctual, well presented and reliable Kitchen / Communal Area Manager to coordinate, manage and keep the space clean throughout the working week. This person will be a face for the business, help breath life into the new area, own and take pride in its success.

Core responsibilities

·Open up at 6.30am each day and let suppliers in.

·Set up breakfast (pastries, porridge, cereals, bacon sandwiches) and replenish.

·Refill coffee machines

·Stock ordering and replenishment

·Provide reports/receipts on request for accounts.

·Coordinating with food suppliers and external providers

·Simple food production (making drinks & sandwiches on demand for meetings / interviews / special events)

·Reporting any damage/problems to facilities.

·Load and unload dishwashers. Clean down and tidy up throughout the day

·Cleaning of meeting rooms and office areas as and when required.

·Removal of rubbish

·Be a friendly, positive and supportive face within the business

·Welcome guests and notify of their arrival

·Be accountable for the condition and running of the communal area.

·Train cover staff if/when required.

·Contribute to successful implementation of any new developments within the space.

Skills & Experience

·Food Hygiene or Food Handling certificate a must

·Basic food preparation knowledge

·Previous experience of within a hospitality or canteen environment

·Proven organisational skills

·Ability to work on own initiative without direct supervision

·Friendly and approachable




·Can do attitude.
