In order to secure the best teaching staff for September an academy in Wolverhampton have enlisted the help of i-teachers in recruiting three newly qualified teachers for the new academic year. Starting the recruitment process at this early stage will hopefully mean the school are able to pick the most suitable NQTs for their school and avoid the 'bun fight' in the summer when a greater number of schools are looking to recruit.

As well as in maths and science the school are keen to take on an English NQT looking for their first full time and permanent position on completion of their PGCE. Ideally the school are looking for an exceptional NQT teacher with the potential to become an 'Outstanding' English teacher of the future. They're only looking for candidates that have excelled on their teacher training and who have, or are expected to, be deemed as 'Good' or 'Outstanding' on their school training placements.

The academy in Wolverhampton was converted from a secondary in 2013 and with it a large investment in to the school's buildings and classrooms. Perhaps a little tired in appearance and equipment the school has, since the investment, become a much more modern establishment with well-equipped classrooms and up date I.T systems. Home to 856 pupils the school provides an education to 11-16 year olds with no current sixth form provision. The school is prominent in the league tables with consistently good GCSE results, due largely to the stability of the senior leadership team and their creative approach to managing a modern school.

With a strong team of teaching staff and learning support assistants the English department is seen as a real strength of the school. The head of department joined the school just a year ago after five years with a school in Dudley. She has bought a fresh focus and a new energy to her team ensuring the highest quality teaching across the key stages. As an NQT the head of department will ensure your time with the school is productive and rewarding ensuring you achieve QTS at the end of the year.

Please don't hesitate in sending a copy of your CV to Natalie at if you're an English NQT looking to secure a position within a West Midlands school.

If this position isn't of interest but you're looking for other potential teaching positions in the West Midlands then please get in touch to be kept up to date with relevant vacancies.
