The Green Recruitment Company are currently working alongside a leading environmental consultancy who provide governance advice and other services to the environmental and utilities sectors

The role:

Our client is currently looking for a motivated and driven individual to join their Environment Team to manage the day to day delivery of the Green Deal. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the environment sector and be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of the GD Oversight and Registration Bodies contract is achieved effectively and efficiently. This high profile Government Initiative requires the ideal candidate to have an excellent attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines.


• Managing the day to day running of the Green Deal ORB services, including:
• Managing the Green Deal Helpdesk to ensure effective and efficient, high quality delivery;
• Leading and developing the GD helpdesk operators;
• Overseeing the management of the call log database;
• Responsibility for ensuring the quality and accuracy of the GD ORB website content;
• Maintaining the accuracy of the GD ORB Register;
• Responding to helpdesk enquires (both phone and email) and managing escalated customer/client and industry queries;
• Managing the PAQ and Fitness Test process, ensuring applications are processed and feedback is provided in accordance with agreed timescales;
• Supporting the Operations and Governance Delivery Managers by providing feedback on operational and client requirements;
• Support the Operations Delivery Manager in the design and implementation of the monitoring framework
• Supporting continuous improvement to procedures and techniques used in contract delivery to client(s), whilst seeking to improve existing operations;
• Drafting of Industry documents/papers/briefs to support Green Deal Delivery;
• Developing relationships and networks with clients/customer/industry stakeholders;
• Providing expert knowledge to tenders as required;
• Liaising with a wide range of industry bodies and government departments to collate, distribute and update key information;


• To be successful in the role the post-holder should be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
• Strong knowledge and experience of the Environment sector, in particular environmental policy and regulation;
• Exceptional client and stakeholder management skills;
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail;
• Ability to work to tight deadlines;
• Experience of managing and developing team members and creating an innovative working environment;
• Flexibility to react to changing demands;
• Ability to analyse operational problems and articulate suitable solutions (verbally and in writing) to technical and non-technical audiences;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills;
