Audit & Accounts Manager
A high profile Birmingham based public practice accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to join their well-known and highly successful team. This Audit & Accounts Manager job in the West Midlands is suitable for an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant with extensive audit experience gained in a public practice environment. The role is geared approx. 40% accounts and 60% audit, and has the potential for progression for the right candidate.
This Midlands based practice has several offices and offers Accountancy, Audit and Tax Advisory services along with access to an International network enabling them to work with high profile entities with foreign parents the client base includes Limited companies, Owner managed businesses and sizeable corporate entities across the region.

The main responsibilities of this Audit & Accounts Manager Job will be;
- Accounts preparation for a wide range of business entities
- Reviewing the work of a team of junior and Semi Senior accountants within the practice
- Taking responsibility for the planning and completion of audits, including some large and complex groups
- Managing the day to day audit process requirements of the firm, including responsibility for working to recovery targets
- Working closely with the Partners to ensure quality of output and efficiency of process
The perfect Audit & Accounts Manager will be ACCA/ACA qualified with a minimum of three years' experience of working within a busy public practice accountancy firm (some within Audit). Confidence in communicating with clients at all levels is imperative, along with a strong desire to exceed service expectations. You will need to be able to plan, lead and complete on audits, including being confident with group consolidations. Leadership skills are required to manage and develop a team of technical staff, whilst looking after a portfolio of clients.
Our ideal candidate will have a skillset which includes both Audit & Accounts, preferably gained within a top 20 firm. You will possess the ability to manage a client portfolio ranging from small SME’s right through to complex international groups, and AIM listed entities. Working with Finance Directors both in the UK and overseas, this varied role would in particular interest those with experience of specialist Audit requirements including; FRS102/UK GAAP and IFRS, SOX, Solicitors’ accounts rules/FCA/AIM Rules, SORP and Charities
