  • Ownership of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Ensure the smooth operation and best practice processes for centralized AP, AR, Cash and Banking

  • Ownership and first review of balance sheet account & monthly reconciliations;
  • Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines e.g. production of management accounting packs;
  • Report to Group via Cognos;
  • Manage input & output tax (VAT);
  • Co-ordinate, monitor and interpret detailed cash flow reports for the Europe West region, ensuring that Corporate Treasury policy is followed and future trends predicted;
  • Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders e.g. auditors, budget holders, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue;
  • Preparation of annual R&D Tax Claims;
  • Ensure team compliance to all internal policies and controls;
  • Responsible for timely and accurate local audits and statutory filings;
  • Key contributor for Finance system improvements and implementations;
  • Business Planning;
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation and ensure function always remains compliant;
  • Lead, encourage, train and support the Finance team in order for them to meet and exceed their objectives;
  • Manage individual and team performance to inspire trust and build engagement and productivity.
  • Key involvement in the annual budget process
  • Review and analyse the monthly result with non-finance Managers


The ideal Finance Manager:

  • Accounting qualification- ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Practical and recent hands-on experience of all aspects of the month end accounting and planning processes
  • Improving processes and controls
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • CaseWare software skills - preferable
  • Organisational skills
  • The ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication/ persuasion skills at different levels within a business
  • Demonstrable leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Planning, organisation and project management skills
  • Proven prior managerial experience

Job Offer

£50,000 per annum plus excellent benefits including private medical (family cover) and bonus
