Connect Consultancy Ltd are a long established utilities, telecommunications and business overhead consultancy based in Felixstowe. We have a client base of over 200 local and national companies and are part of the Auditel UK cost consultancy network.

As a result of continued growth, development and exciting targets, we are looking to appoint a driven and committed business development executive to work with our sales manager and management team to help achieve our ambitious goals for growth in the coming months and years. We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and committed individuals educated to degree level and with particular interest and expertise in customer facing sales in the B2B arena. We are looking for someone to help us grow our energy brokerage division and also assist with complex B2B sales of professional consultancy services.


You will be responsible for assisting us to increase our client base via new customer acquisition and to extend our service offering to our existing client base. The role will predominantly involve; Acquisition of new customers for our energy brokerage team along with sales of more complex consultancy based contracts with the assistance of the sales manager. The role may also include, but is not restricted to; review meetings with existing clients, offering additional services to existing clients and relationship management.

Position in the Business

You will be reporting to the Sales Manager & the Directors on sales strategy, performance and planning.

Duties & Responsibilities

Identification of appropriate prospects & sales leads via research of organisations and individuals online.

Planning and implementing sales strategies & marketing initiatives.

Making contact with prospects to secure meetings.

Attendance of sales meetings to present our offering and conduct contract negotiations.

Preparing presentations and sales displays.

Developing quotes and proposals.

Negotiations via phone, email and in person.

Developing sales goals and ensuring they are met.

Reporting to management on a regular basis.

Requirements for the Successful Candidate

Educated to Degree level is preferable but not essential.

Experience of working in Business to Business sales at board and management level.

Experience of the utility markets is preferable but not essential.

Well presented, professional manner and socially adept.

Strong negotiation skills, clear & concise written and spoken communication skills.

Strong IT skills and experience of using contact management systems, email, spreadsheets and presentation software.

A strong commercial background and understanding of professional services.

A Full Clean UK driving license and willing to travel nationally.

Ability to use initiative as well as being part of a focused team.

Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Location & Hours

The position is full time working 40 hours per week. Our office is located in Felixstowe, Suffolk but some home working will also be available.

You will be expected to provide your own transport for meetings and sales appointments, expenses will be paid as part of the package to cover the cost of this.

We are a UK wide operation so ability to travel to all parts of the UK will be required.
