My client is a well known trade association and due to expansion they are looking to recruit a Marketing & Communications Officer on a permanent basis. The role will be supporting the Marketing Communications Manager in the day to day operations including all associated activities and requirements. The successful candidate will ensure that the correct information is passed to the business members and be determined in positively changing the business perception to a wide variety of industry sectors and general public to enforce the company position as a leading Trade Association for their industry. You will utilise all forms of marketing and communications and work to set objectives/targets set by the Marketing & Comms Manager to ensure that all opportunities to promote the business are undertaken.

[ The role ]

* Develop key understanding of the organisation's operations and environment UK wide
* Devise, design and implement with support from the Marketing and Communications Manager, effective marketing and communication plans that deliver the Associations strategic objectives by operating daily communications activities
* Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with the development of national and industry campaigns and specific key messages, disseminating the information to key target audiences using a wide range of marketing and communication tools
* Work alongside the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop strong industry relationships with key national and, where appropriate, international press in the sector and respond to all media enquiries
* Undertake weekly press monitoring duties for all printed, on air and digital publicity channels including reporting and analysis
* Liaise with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the Operations Manager on how to effectively promote the organisation to its members and to the general public
* Work alongside the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop a Communications Strategy that meets the requirements of the Business Plan and Marketing Strategy
* Create and co-ordinate surveys that the Marketing and Communications Manager/Operations Manager may have instigated and pass information to relevant bodies
* Support the business presence at a number of key trade shows and events, either regionally, nationally, or very occasionally, internationally, including build-up and breakdown of stands and stand equipment
* Order stocks of promotional materials including bags, leaflets etc. when required under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager.
* Develop and maintain the photo library, help set-up and then manage a cloud-based media press and/or member toolkit and provide assistance to journalists when required
* Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of campaigns against the Marketing Strategy and Business Plan objectives using analytical processes
* Maintain the website with relevant news releases and events and provide additional content management support to keep the website up-to-date with new content daily

[ Person and skills required ]

* Ideally a Marketing Degree or working towards CIM
* Full UK driving licence due to location and event requirements
* Attention to detail is essential
* Excellent communication skills
* Good general IT skills
* Event coordination and flexible to be involved in start up and shut down of events
