Excellent opportunity to join a growing medium sized practice based in Central London as an Audit Senior

Reporting to the Audit Partners, Directors and Managers, this is a high-profile position, providing audit and assurance services to our diverse corporate and entrepreneurial clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

Preparation of statutory financial statements from trial balance or primary records
Preparation of working papers to support financial statements including lead schedules, checklists and statutory reviews
Audit of financial statements by way of sample testing and analytical review
Preparation of working papers to support audit work carried out including lead schedules, checklists and statutory reviews
Visiting client’s premises to carry out audit work where necessary, including stock take attendances
Liaising with clients as and when necessary to carry out work including audit and accounting queries and confirmation of statutory position
Performing an advisory role to a portfolio of clients
Working solely or as part of a team on audits and accounts preparation assignments in respect of small, medium & large companies
Meeting internal & external deadlines
The role is 80% in-house although a large part of that time will be spent communicating with clients
Review of audit and accounts work undertaken by junior members of the team
Reporting on a regular basis to Managers and Director for auditing and accounting
Partake in regular meetings to discuss progress and current client issues with the Director and to understand the workload of colleagues
Partake in quarterly technical update meetings with the whole team.

Essential Requirements:

Newly qualified or at Finals stage
At least three years’ experience in a public practice working with corporate clients in a mixed audit and accountancy role
Strong experience of planning and completing audit and accounts preparation assignments
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Confidence when dealing with clients
Accuracy and good attention to detail
Ability to manage own tasks, good time management and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
The candidate must be self-disciplined, organised, proactive, able to make and justify own decisions
Smart and professional in appearance
Strong IT skills
Proficiency in a foreign language desirable, but not essential
