Unique opportunity to join the Technical Team of a top 10 practice in a growing and dynamic accounting network with member firms that serve clients both nationally and internationally.

The successful candidate will join the existing Technical Team of professionals in London that is responsible for providing a wide range of technical audit, accounting, tax and consulting quality control and risk containment services to the member firms in the network. This is a permanent role for a dynamic person to provide a wide range of technical, compliance, training support to the Technical Team and member firms with a focus particularly on audit methodology and member firm quality control.

Reporting to the Global Leader – Quality and Risk the successful candidate will be involved in the following activities:
• Ethics and Independence Policies
o Under the direction of the Global Leader – Quality & Risk, updating and distributing the above policies as required by the Transnational Assurance Services Executive Committee
o Tracking questions and feedback on the above policies for future consideration for training, policy, process or systems updates
• Operation of the Global Relationship Tracker (an online database that records all notifiable clients for independence purposes)
o Answering systems related questions from users
o Providing access to the system for users
o Checking and validating data added to the system by users
o Monitoring user data management activities and contacting users who are not active
o Based on feedback from users and others, testing and observation of the operation of the system, to update and improve the operation and functioning of the system
• Annual Global Relationship Tracker Completeness and Accuracy Reporting process
o Draft the reporting instructions to be sent to member firms
o Send instructions to member firms and monitor replies
o Follow-up any exceptions to the reporting requirements with member firms
• Ethics and Independence training
o Draft and deliver training materials about ethics, independence and related topics via face-to-face, webinar and online mediums
• Other reasonable duties for the Technical Team and the Executive Office
o Depending on skills and experience from time-to-time involvement in a wide range of other duties associated with the activities of the Technical Team and Executive Office.

With respect to the responsibilities outlined above, it is expected that approximately 60% of a full time equivalent would be devoted to Ethics and Independence Policies, the Global Relationship Tracker process and associated training. The balance of a full time equivalent (approximately 40%) would be comprised by other reasonable duties for the Technical Team and Executive Office.

The role is based at the Central London headquarters and may include limited international travel, not likely to exceed 10 days per year.

Qualifications/ Education/ Training
Graduate or professional level qualifications in auditing, accounting or compliance with knowledge of international ethics and independence standards beneficial.
Experience/ knowledge
Likely to have extensive experience as an auditor, accountant or compliance officer at a public accounting or legal firm or within a financial institution, preferably with international experience.
Skills and competencies
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Attention to detail and commitment to the highest level of quality
• Effective time management and task prioritisation
• Experience presenting face-to-face or via webinar
• Good project management skills, preferably with international activities
• Fluent English with a preference for a second language
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Capable IT skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
