The business is thriving and they have a strong forward order book of exciting projects.

They are looking for an experienced Senior/Principal ecologist to join their UK team.

Reporting to the Head of Ecology, you will be responsible for managing a team of ecologists and delivery of their services to existing internal and external clients, as well as playing a key role in developing new business. You will have a good understanding of the issues and constraints associated with working on multi-disciplinary infrastructure development projects, managing resources, as well as ensuring technical excellence delivery sound financial performance.

Candidate Specification:

You must demonstrate the following:
*A degree in Ecology (or directly related subject) as well as a masters level or higher qualification.
*Chartered Environmentalist or Chartered Ecologist (desirable).
*Protected species experience with a minimum of two associated licences (dormouse or white clawed crayfish desirable).
*Excellent communication skills including extensive experience of the production high quality ecological assessments including EIA and HRA.
*Proven ability of leading and directing teams of field surveyors on large projects.
*UK ecological consultancy experience, with a strong client-orientated approach.
*Excellent understanding of UK and European nature conservation legislation.
*Excellent project and financial management skills.
*Proven track record of developing new business.
*Ability to inspire and commitment to develop the ecology team.
*Experience of expert witness at a planning enquiry would be an advantage.
*Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
*Full UK driving licence.
