North Bristol based with some travel

My client is seeking an inspirational Team Manager to direct and support an experienced, qualified and highly regarded technical team (covering Pensions, Tax and Estate Planning and Protection) to deliver a high quality and efficient technical query resolution service to their clients across multiple locations, under the overall direction of the Operations Manager (Cirencester). The role will be to ensure that the team are fully capable of delivering the service and adhere to established operational disciplines required to effectively handle the volumes and complexities of service demand.

The Job:
Day to day responsibilities;
Prepares the team for day to day workload, identifying priorities and any exceptional impacts that the team have been made aware of. Manages any resource challenges and likely impacts on team performance as effectively as possible to maintain set standards. Manages Non Process Time [NPT] efficiently and effectively to ensure value add contribution is made through all NPT scheduled activity undertaken. Make clear to all team members the expectations on each team member depending on their experience and capability. Reports into and deputises for Operational Manager. Recruits in to the team to improve available capability. Working with information provided by the QA Manager constantly seeks to provide team members with bespoke training and development. Lives the continuous improvement philosophy. Provides effective direction and protection for the team through effective planning, forecasting and communication on a day to day basis. Engages key stakeholders in a manner that builds confidence and respect for the performance of the team. Provides reporting and insight to the Operations Manager as required

The Person:

Strong experience of operational management, ideally within financial services
Strong forecasting, planning and organisational skills that are applied to daily workloads
Experience of using MI to inform continuous improvement and change opportunities for the service
Strong team management, motivation and development skills applied to day to day performance across all roles
Strong coaching and mentoring skills
A strong, decisive and inspiring manager
Comfortable dealing with under performance and getting the right outcomes
Excellent understanding of the levers required to deliver outstanding service to the business
A passion for people and their development and
Establishes and role models the right kind of values and behaviours for the team
Analytical and committed to continuous improvement based on facts
Energetic, enthusiastic, proactive with a commercial focus
