My client a leading engineering company is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller for their head office. The successful candidate will implement, deliver and support the bridge between finance and the commercial function in the business. They will effective relationships to provide support to the business and professionally communicate with business managers, project teams, departmental staff and group peers to ensure robust and effective implementation of the set strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to Finance Director, Commercial Director & Project Directors, as required, in achieving the business objectives
  • Act as liaison between operational teams, commercial, finance and other functions to ensure goal congruence and avoid dysfunctional behaviour
  • Actively contribute to the risk management process by providing high quality information, facts and informed judgement, covering compliance, commercial, insurance and finance
  • Attend project reviews to ensure financial objectives are met, key risks & opportunities are identified/understood and business processes are followed
  • Drive key indicators of business including working capital & cash conversion requirements and financial indicators to include, validation of margin, forecast phasing and cash flow
  • Interpreting performance trends and providing decision support for the generation of strategic improvement plans and actions across the business
  • Control and ownership of business forecast models, co-ordinate, review to ensure accurate models and data
  • Control and ownership of cash forecast models, including manage the credit control function. Drive the collection of due, overdue debtors including legacy issues
  • Attend cash review meetings and be able to stand in for Finance Director & Commercial Director as required

Key skills:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
