Chief Executive Officer
Healthwatch Milton Keynes is the local consumer champion promoting choice and influencing the provision of high quality health, social care and wellbeing services for all across Milton Keynes.
We became an independent CIO in January 2017 and to guide us through the next phase of our development we are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership, guidance and support to the staff, volunteers and trustees of Healthwatch Milton Keynes CIO.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the most senior officer having operational responsibility for Healthwatch Milton Keynes CIO. He/she shall be responsible and accountable to the Trustee Board for the management & development of the activities and resources as well as delivering Healthwatch MK CIO’s operating strategy, statutory obligations and strategic outcomes, in conjunction with the Trustee Board. He/she will work in partnership with funders, regulators and other stakeholders; lead the staffing team within the values, behavioural and performance framework of the organisation and representing the needs of service users of health and social care services in Milton Keynes.
Duties will include attending board meetings and sub committees; leading the strategic development & growth of the Healthwatch Milton Keynes CIO ensuring a positive, proactive profile of the organisation in the local health and social care economy; Lead on the formulation, consultation and development of a strategic plan; Support the development of members of the Trustee Board; Facilitate and provide for the widest involvement at committees, forums & partnerships, for overview, scrutiny and involvement in consultation purposes; Advocate on behalf of Healthwatch Milton Keynes CIO representing the views and needs of residents, carers and service users; Influence the planning, commissioning and provision of local health and social care services; Work with Partner organisations and encourage volunteers. Operate at all times in accordance with the principles of good governance and Healthwatch Milton Keynes CIO Statement of Policy & Principles.
Candidates should possess a high degree of professionalism, credibility and enthusiasm with proven and substantial senior leadership, financial, performance and strategy skills. Experience of senior leadership within a Social Care or Healthcare setting is highly desirable.
