Cordant Technical & Engineering are currently supporting a fantastic organisation who works in the water industry. The company provide specialist engineering services in all aspects of water hygiene, abstraction, distribution, analysis and treatment, distribution network repair and maintenance, rehabilitation, alteration and extension. They supply a wide range of services to the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial and retail customers.
Due to recent company expansion they are looking for an additional Mechanical Fitter to join their operating depot in Essex. We are recruiting for the role of Mechanical Fitter who will support operations on various sites around Essex. You will be an expert in your line of work and have fantastic knowledge and experience in working on all mechanical aspects you may find on water works sites and pumping stations. The role requires flexibility to travel. You will have autonomy in your role using your skills to organise the requirements of site based mechanical work. This role also requires working to the highest health and safety standards at all times.
- Service, manufacture and assembly of mechanical components for the water industry. Mainly pumps
- Carry out pump refurbishments & installations on various sites throughout the South West of England
- Report all mechanical defects and issues to line management
- Multi faceted role with time spent on site and with the depot.
The successful candidate for this role will have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship or be qualified to City & Guilds (or similar). The ability to think on your feet and find solutions to problems will be an advantage in this role. Previous experience of working autonomously as well as in a team in pressure situations will be beneficial. If you have previous experience within the water industry is desirable by our clients however this is not essential. Having a hands on approach to work and not being afraid to get your hands dirty is part and parcel of day to day work, as the majority of the work is within waste water.
- Up to £27,000 basic salary
- Ability to earn an extra 30% of your basic salary in over time
- 28 days holiday a year rising to 33 over 5 years service ( including statutory)
