Technical Services Manager - Stockport & Wirral - £50-55k

My client, a Telecoms Service Provider organisation based across the North West are currently recruiting for a permanent Technical Services Manager to join their growing team. The role will be split between both my client's Stockport office and Wirral office.

The purpose of this role is to provide the essential technical knowledge and people skills to lead and manage my client's IT (desktop, network, virtual and physical server environments) and Telecoms (Hosted and on-site systems, digital and SIP, Data connectivity) Technical Service teams (project engineers, service desk advisors and field engineers) to deliver pre-sales consultation and solution design, support and resolution of technical issues and project implementation.

Principle Responsibilities:

*Leading and managing a team of 12 (recruit, induct, train, manage, develop)
*Overseeing and coordinating the day to day service desk and support activities
*Supporting and validating pre-sales solution design and overseeing project implementation
*Planning and managing the allocation of resource
*Supporting the team in the resolution of high profile technical incidents
*Establishing and maintaining a training needs program
*Designing, implementing and maintaining information systems to record processes and knowledge
*Ensuring that the service is delivered profitably
*Preparing management information on team performance
*Managing partner relationships to leverage support and training services

Qualifications and Experience:

*Extensive IT /Telecoms Service Delivery Management within SME businesses service providers (essential)
*Extensive direct line management of technical teams; recruiting training, developing through coaching and mentoring, managing performance (essential)
*Extensive managing and embedding change
*Designing technical Service Delivery and quality management models (essential) ITIL trained and certified (desirable)
*Competent user of MS Office suite, strong excel skills (essential)
*Full driving licence (essential)
*Working experience of Project Management methods (essential) prince 2 practitioner (desireable)
*Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)

Essential:

*Internet connectivity (ADSL, Fibre, Leased Line & MPLS)
*Windows Server 2008 / 2012, Windows Desktop 7 / 8 / 10
*Internet Information Services Administration,
*Exchange administration, Managing Active Directory & Group Policy
*Hypervisor Technology - VMWare & Hyper V
*Network and Software Security Information security and risk management - back-up and storage
*Networking - firewall rules, LAN, WAN and VLAN configuration & Microsoft Office 365 installation, configuration, data migration, administration

Desirable:

*Traditional fixed line and IP telephony (BT Open Reach, Gamma SIP)
*Onsite PBX and Hosted Telephone Systems
*Sharepoint Administration
*SharePoint Development
*Microsoft Azure
*NEC Telephone System
*Vanilla IP hosted system
*Storagecraft
*Sophos
*experience in using Draytech/Zyzel/ Cisco/Meraki hardware
