Relationship Manager - Risk and Collections
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Fintech start up in London.
The business model involves writing consumer home improvement loans with payments collected by energy supply companies on behalf of the company through a customers’ energy bill.
The loan is attached to the meter and thereby to the property and not the individual. Consequently, the payment process is made complex by the need to track changes of household and changes of supplier through data transfer notifications specific to a bill payer
Role: The jobholder will be responsible to the Chief Risk Officer for delivering to cash collections and delinquency targets.
The jobholder will be responsible for devising and executing collection strategies to meet financial targets, liaising internally with Operations, Finance and Compliance. The key partnership will be with the data analytics team that will be dedicated to tracking data changes which have not been made promptly and interrupt payment flows to the company and thereby cause administrative delinquency for customers
Collections strategies will be designed to minimise delinquent customer accounts in line with regulatory guidance and obligations with specific focus on administrative delinquency
The jobholder will be expected to establish strong, cooperative and active relationships with third party service providers and with energy suppliers via supplier scheme company representatives
The relationship with staff at the nine Energy supply companies that collect payments on our behalf and remit cash to us is critical. Developing cooperation through personal relationships with energy company staff will be a key feature of the role
The jobholder will be expected to travel to meet energy supply company staff at their premises where necessary
The jobholder will be expected to take the lead in resolving administrative delinquency and escalating specific issues or complex cases to the CRO to ensure timely resolution
Experience and Capabilities: Candidates are expected to have extensive collections experience preferably in energy supply and if possible in handling Green Deal remittances.
The job holder will be expected to have 5 years in large corporate trade collections experience
They will evidence a successful track record in collections in this space
Candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and evidence the ablility to build and develop personal relationships both over the phone and face to face with personnel at third party companies
Candidates will also be able to engage with internal staff at all levels including executive management and with stakeholders from service providers and supply companies
