An excellent opportunity to lead the assessment of the firms' compliance with the Audit Regulations. This is largely achieved by performing cold file reviews together with some hot reviews.
The role also supports the compliance and review function to deliver enhanced quality assurance processes through the provision of assistance to meet some “whole of firm” audit related requirements other than file reviews.

You will take responsibility for the following areas:
• Carry out cold file reviews and/or ISA 600 reviews to assess the compliance of the audit file with the Audit Regulations. Prepare a detailed list of findings by using a tailored checklist.
• Develop the experience to carry out hot file reviews at either planning and/or completion stages to ensure compliance of the audit file with the Audit Regulations
• Prepare a final report with an adequate and appropriate conclusion to support the grading of each file and obtain Principal Manager and Compliance Partner agreement. 
• Consultation with the Principal Manager on a regular basis with regards to any complex or topical issues that arise whilst performing file reviews
• Making contributions to the annual debrief presentation to all qualified audit personnel and to the presentation of occasional training sessions on Ethics for new joiners and existing personnel
• Monitoring for updates to external requirements

According to departmental needs and workloads, there is the opportunity for involvement in:
• Providing for the file review requirements of the external AQR/QAD/PSR review teams on their annual audit monitoring visits
• The obtaining of annual Compliance Declarations from all personnel
• Updating the firm’s Prohibited Investment List by obtaining responses from appropriate partners and staff both in the UK and overseas.

To be considered, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
• Fully understand International Standards of Auditing (UK and Ireland) and Ethical standards
• Excellent knowledge of Audit Regulations, IFRS and Companies Act 2006
• Basic understanding of all relevant Financial Reporting Standards is also required
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Proven experience within an audit role, ideally from a top 20 firm
• Audit exposure to clients with over £10 million turnover
• Able to demonstrate problem solving skills, influence internal colleagues, use tact and diplomacy and work under pressure with accuracy and focus
• Competent at using MS Office Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven planning and prioritising skills
• Report writing skills
• Self-motivated and able to use initiative
• Strong current technical knowledge, organisational and time management skills
