Make sure we have excellent support behind the scenes

The Met Police needs to make the most of its resources. With this in mind, we’ve created the Finance Operations Management team. It will ensure that we get the best from a new outsourced provider as well as our Finance function. As Transactional Control Performance Analyst, you’ll examine data to see how our teams are doing. Your work will play a big part in helping us check and improve our performance behind the scenes.

Your main task is to study data and create reports, dashboards, alerts and scorecards that reveal the performance of our Shared Service Centre (SSC) teams. The key is to find the story in the data - creating insights rather than just statistics. Your reports will help managers to easily find and share information, so they can make decisions about the SSC function.

With a degree (or equivalent) in Maths, Finance, Economics or a similar subject, you’ll be a skilled professional with a keen eye for detail. You’ve helped to manage an outsourced provider’s performance before and used continuous improvement to achieve excellent service delivery. Knowledge of contract management will be useful in this role, as will a good grasp of public sector procurement issues. Good organisation and analytical skills are both essential too, along with the ability to explain technical information to all. If you’re also a confident user of Oracle, Artemis and Excel, there could be a role for you at the heart of a hard-working team.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role specific information pack and application form.

Completed applications must be returned by 27th February 2017.

Please note we are only able to review the first 50 applications received.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
