Our client with offices based around the UK are a well known and well respected business networking organisation that offer their members marketing and business support as well as holding a range of business networking events and seminars. A vacancy for a Business Development Manager has recently arisen to look after their Manchester membership;working from offices in central Manchester.

Recruitment of new members is key to this role as well as effective account management of existing members to ensure retention and growth. Applicants MUST be proven new business developers with the ability to close business both face to face and over the telephone.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Focus on members recruitment and membership retention in Manchester
  • Support group sales, events and marketing activities
  • Develop relationships with member companies
  • Raise awareness of the companies support services and initiatives to members and prospective members
  • Facilitate B2B introductions for member companies
  • Contribute and seek contributions to the member publications
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of members, sponsors, partners and supporters
  • Conduct market research
  • Assist with company events as directed by the in-house events team

Person Specification

  • We are looking for someone with a solid track record in a new business development/sales role
  • Ideally you will have an existing network in the Manchester area
  • Telephone and face to face sales experience
  • Experience of working to and exceeding set targets
  • Self motivated and able to work independantly
  • Target driven and money motivated
  • Someone who has a sense of urgency - committed to delivering results

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person looking to develop their sales career in an exciting and rewarding position within a high growth business. In return you will recieve a very competitive basic salary of up to £30k alongside an uncapped commission scheme giving you an OTE of £55k+
