POST TITLE: Marketing Manager

ANNUAL LEAVE: 30 days + public holidays

WEEKLY HOURS: 35 hours per week. Some out of normal hours work may arise, for which TOIL may be available. This could include attending fairs in the UK or overseas.

REPORTING TO: Director - Sales and Marketing

Main duties:

To manage the marketing activities and team:

  • Management of the Digital Executive and the Social Media Executive
  • Managing the production of all marketing collateral
  • Project management of the yearly brochure production for all departments
  • Coordinating all other marketing activities
  • Aligning the brand on all materials developed by the school
  • Contributing to, and developing, marketing plans and strategies with the Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Organising marketing events, either internal or external
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with key suppliers
  • Responsibility for the marketing budget
  • Provide marketing support to the Sales Team
  • Coordination of team and team duties for the Sales and Marketing Director when out of the office
  • Working towards a joined up approach to both sales and marketing activities
  • Working with Sales & Marketing Director to plan the online and offline marketing strategy for the year ahead
  • Working alongside HR & Director of Sales & Marketing in the recruitment process for Marketing staff members when and if required

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Management of the requirements for the design and production of marketing collateral
  • Management of the marketing budget (approximately GBP60K per year)
  • Managing relationships with marketing suppliers
  • Coordination of digital media activities, such as mailshots, news articles from the sales team
  • Coordination of the digital marketing team activities
  • Ensuring a strong social media presence that is relevant to each audience segment
  • Assistance at events as required in the UK or abroad (as agreed)
  • Competitor Market Research
  • Market research such as customer questionnaires and focus groups
  • Working with external associations such as IH World, EUK, the BC and so on
  • Managing templates, copy and production for promotional activities within the school
  • Managing electronic and print marketing materials for use by school staff
  • Assisting with segmentation of audiences to ensure messages are relevant
  • Evaluating marketing campaigns both digital and print
  • Organising and attending events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions
  • Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations
  • Communicating with target audiences and managing customer relationships
  • Providing some cover for the Sales Coordinator, when necessary

Such other tasks as necessary and determined by the Director commensurate with the level of responsibility



  • Experience of working in a marketing environment
  • Experience managing key account relationships
  • Good knowledge of Digital Marketing & Social Media
  • Good IT skills including Excel (knowledge of CRM systems and website maintenance would be an advantage)
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and experience proactively working with different departments
  • Verystrong process and administration skills
  • Ability to prioritise work and work effectively under pressure
  • Experience of coordinating the activities of others
  • Good commercial awareness

  • Understanding of sales and marketing cycle within the EFL industry
  • Experience of working with clients in an international context
  • Background in marketing or graphic design
  • Excellent knowledge of EFL products
