I currently have the pleasure of working with one of the UK's leading Accountancy and Payroll services in the Watford area.

My client has grown significantly recently and is keen to bring on board an experienced Accounts Assistant who is familiar with both AP and AR, assist with Month End / Reconciliations though flexible and happy to help out where needed, scanning / filing etc..

Working as part of a small friendly team, you will report to the Finance Director and must be articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills, ambitious and driven, and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of the team. Key purpose of the Accounts Assistant role is the timely delivery of accurate and consistent reports and book-keeping and will include:

• Credit control
• Sales and purchase ledger functions including payment runs etc. balance sheet Reconciliations
• Bank and Supplier reconciliations and reporting
• Process supplier invoices
• Prepare payments for approval
• Reconcile supplier and customer statements
• Maintaining and reconciliation of bank account
• Spreadsheet analysis  
• Assisting with monthly Management Accounts
• Maintaining databases
• Reconciling petty cash 
Any other ad-hoc financial accounting tasks that may be required of you.

The successful candidate will posses the following skills:

• Being accurate and analytical.
• Being able to solve different conflicting demands.
• Knowledge of Sage 200 is highly beneficial
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel
