Desktop Support Engineer, Leading provider of Cloud hosted SAAS products.

A desktop engineer is required by one of the UK's leading Cloud Hosted SAAS provider based in Central London. With an ever-growing international client base, and many projects lined up for the next couple of years as they make their move to a full cloud-hosted infrastructure, they are an additional member to join their desktop support function at a 1st-2nd line support level.

The role:
First and foremost you will be supporting our every-growling global user base of 550, the majority of which are working within a Windows environment, but with a growing number of Mac OS users. Primarily you will focus your efforts on typical desktop support issues, yet at the same time embrace more challenging support queries that might otherwise be raised to a 3rd line team. To build on this it is worth highlighting that there is an expectation from our Desktop Engineers to spend half their time dealing with desktop related queries, the other half focussed on server related matters - a great chance to really develop your skills set with a skilled and supportive team around you.

To be considered for the position you will need to demonstrate confidence and experience at a 1st / 2nd line level with the following tech:

- Office 365
- Windows (any version, but 7 & 10 preferable)
- Active Directory - adding new users, permission etc
- Exchange
- Prior experience working in a similar sized user environment (consider 200-700 users)
- SOFTER SKILLS: Confident, friendly demeanour and a genuine 'want' to self-improve and learn new technologies

The experience/tech you'll gain during your remit in this role (if you've got any experience in these areas then great):

- Virtualisation
- LAN / WAN
- Powershell scripting
- MDT - Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
- Networking: Cisco Switches, Routers, DNS etc
- Cloud technologies
- Mimecast
- Server management
- Security products and projects
