Our client, (with offices in Manchester and surrounding areas) a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants are looking to recruit an experienced Forensic Accountant.

The Forensic accounting team was established in 1989 and since then has provided expert witness and litigation support services to more than 500 firms of solicitors, together with a number of commercial clients, insurance companies, local authorities and public bodies.

The forensic team offers a national service from its North West base. The principal areas of work comprise:

Commercial litigation/ disputes (including business interruption claims; business/ share valuation disputes; shareholder and partnership disputes). matrimonial settlements; personal injury, clinical negligence and fatal accident claims; criminal / fraud defence
(including reporting in proceeds of crime/ confiscation order cases); and professional negligence claims.

A vacancy has arisen in their forensic team at a Manager/ Associate Level. The successful candidate would work closely with the existing team, assisting to build up the team and shape the team's future strategy, with ultimately the ability to succeed to a senior role in the team.

The successful candidate's role will be to deal with a variety of forensic accounting assignments in the areas detailed above, with the potential to develop new areas of work, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will ideally:

-Already have experience of acting as an expert witness and forensic accountant, reporting in their own name
-Have a good academic record, including ACA/ ACCA qualification
-Possess strong communication and report writing skills
-Have experience of giving evidence in court
-Be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work to tight deadlines
-Have good business development skills
-Be a good team player
-Have the ability to manage a portfolio of assignments
-Be computer literate (principally Microsoft Word and Excel)
-The ability to transfer in an existing client base/ following would be a distinct advantage
-Salary package competitive and dependent on experience

To be considered for this role you would need the following:

-ACA/ ACCA qualified with between 5-10 years post qualification experience - essential
-Forensic experience in the following areas; Commercial Litigations, matrimonial disputes, personal injury claims and criminal defence works.
-Experience in or more of these areas - essential
-Writing reports in your own name - essential
-Giving expert evidence in own name - essential
-Having a small following - would be welcomed although not essential
