Business Manager - Building Trade - Bristol - £40 - £50K dependant on Experience

My client is a multimillion pound international organisation.

This position is based at their Sales and Distribution centre in Avonmouth Bristol

The role is predominately office based however customer and supplier visits are required at certain times of the year.

The role of Business Manager is as follows:

Working with Group Manager implementing set objectives for two divisions.

The role is predominately office based, however at key times of the year you would be expected to present the new products and initiatives offered, over a 6 week period when a team travel the UK , joined by the National Sales Manager & Group Manager

Overseas travel is also part of this role with annual visits to China in October and occasional business trips into Europe. All business expenses are covered by the company.

Working with current suppliers, enhancing the range of branded products & features and benefits. Negotiate prices and strategies with new and current suppliers.

Sourcing new products from China (1 overseas trip each year). The Business Manager would travel with Group Manager

Within the role

Position the brand within the market offering a lower cost option to the brand leaders but with extra or perceived features and benefits that our sales team can then present to customers

  • From samples ordered, the Business Manager will be responsible for the organising of product testing andevaluation.
  • Re branding ofproducts

This would include Creating product differentiation Colour Changes, artwork of both product and packaging. Features and benefits listed (marketing team would also be involved at some stage) differentiating the products.

Working with Marketing, updating Web site, create annual Catalogues and ongoing promotions.

Oversee marketing and advertising activities to ensure consistency with product line strategy. Work and supporting National Sales Manager and Operations Manager.

Support on a daily basis technical questions relating to the products supplied from the business both to customers and the sales team.

After an agreed period within the position and the successful completion of the tasks set within the role the position would then be extended to Divisional Manager for 2 of the company’s brands.

KPI Requirements

Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management

Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities and key issues.

Comfortable working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets

Technical training on the products will be given and the successful candidate will also be able to take relevant training qualifications connected to the industry - (expense covered by the company)

Executive company car, lap top, iphone & ipad are also part of the package
