Lead Endoscopy Nurse

£32,000 - £36,000

Key Responsibilities

As the lead Nurse for Endoscopy, you will be expected to provide a high quality, cost effective service within the Endoscopy department; maintaining the highest standard of care and safety for patients, visitors and staff.

The role has clinical, managerial and professional responsibilities including:

  • Providing skilled and considerate nursing care to patients in the endoscopy department
  • Taking responsibility for maintaining accurate, timely and complete records, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of information
  • The responsibility for safe discharge planning, ensuring that all discharge requirements are in place prior to the patients' leaving the facility
  • Providing clear and consistent leadership to the multidisciplinary team, achieving and maintaining high morale based on sound organisation and communication
  • Ensuring JAG accreditation are maintained and submitting 6 monthly GRS data
  • Maintaining an enquiring approach to nursing practice keeping Endoscopy staff up-to-date with issues and trends affecting the speciality

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Substantial experience in Endoscopy with relevant clinical experience
  • Experience in day care/ short stay nursing
  • Experience of working in and leading a small team


  • NMC Registered Nurse Level 1
  • Specialist qualification in Endoscopy within a speciality (ENB 906/NURS 0197 Endoscopy Principles & Procedures or equivalent)
  • IV drug administration, venepuncture and cannulation skills
  • Basic / Intermediate life support skills
