Senior Internal Auditor required for dynamic in house team.

Experienced Auditor with a desire to continue to develop.

Major firm based in Bristol.

Description

  • Actively contribute to the development and alignment of the team strategy to meet Group Audit expectations.
  • Identify, assess and report on risks.
  • Provide advice to managers to develop plans to mitigate risks and monitor progress
  • Design the audit scope to identify and evaluate the main risks and controls
  • Plan the audit to cover the scope, optimize business involvement, and meet agreed time scales
  • Perform the audit to agreed professional, departmental and group standards, either as part of a team, or leading on an audit assignment
  • Produce high quality working papers and audit reports for assigned audits. Formally report audit findings, issues and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management
  • Prepare periodical summary reports for Group on topics ranging from plan progress, key developments, and best practices to be shared among the Group Audit population
  • Deliver ideas and plans that help improvement of quality and effectiveness of internal audit processes
  • Progress and aid the development and training of peers, and providing them with appropriate help and guidance

Profile

  • Be a qualified accountant or Auditor (ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent)
  • Have internal and/or external audit experience with proven and extensive experience of auditing in a complex business environment
  • Have the ability to build effective, trusting relationships at all levels of the organization, challenges the norm where applicable, and influence management and stakeholders regarding the importance of effective controls
  • Understand a complex and changing environment; getting to grips with the products, customers, and regulatory landscape
  • Have proven planning and organization skills
  • Lead audit teams, manage others' tasks, and coach peers within the team where applicable
  • Have a strong capability to lead audits, perform independent reviews, and assume responsibility for own actions and performance
  • The ability to complete delegated tasks and audits to specified timescales whilst maintaining a high standard of quality in line with professional and departmental standards
  • Have excellent report writing skills; must be able to convey findings and recommendations through concise and clear reports
  • A proven record of managing multiple audit projects, and prioritizing work in an effective manner
