Communications and Marketing Manager sought by a vibrant membership organisation in Birmingham.

The role:

As Communications and Marketing Manager, you will be developing effective communications, marketing, and insight strategies in order to support the delivery of the strategic plan and the organisation as a whole, supporting the organisation's understanding of its members via CRM, segmentation strategies, and delivering an insight programme, and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Communications and Marketing department. The role will see you undertaking a number of duties, including, but not limited to: working with the Director of Operations to develop and deliver communications, marketing, and insight strategies, responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of the marcomms activity and campaigns, managing the website and CRM system, managing data, managing marketing segmentation strategies, working to promote a unified brand, coordinating key events, managing PR and media activity, liaising with journalists and media, developing the Communications and Marketing budget, and managing staff within the department.

What we're looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a communications, marketing, PR, or journalism-related educational or professional qualification, accompanied by solid experience in this field, either in-house or agency background - although an agency background would be of particular interest! A management or leadership-related professional qualification would be advantageous, but management experience is certainly required. You should have experience of developing and delivering communications and marketing strategies, developing and managing websites, designing and managing communications campaigns and activity, and of dealing with the media and stakeholders, writing press releases and copy, coordinating and delivering projects, setting budgets, and managing a team. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to develop working relationships with a wide range of people, research skills, customer care and service ability, and a good level of computer literacy. On top of all this, you should be self-motivated, flexible, team- and customer-focused, and persistent, with strong persuading skills and attention to detail.
