The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church and registered charity, working in 127 countries, and it offers unconditional friendship and very practical help to people of all ages, backgrounds and needs. Manpower is currently recruiting for a Service Desk Analyst on behalf of The Salvation Army, based just outside of Manchester, for a temp to perm position, initially for 3 months.

The role of the Service Desk Analyst is to serve as the single point of contact for all IT related interactions, representing the Strategic Information Department in a professional manner and, consistently deliver quality customer service and high quality IT Support. Key to this role is the ability to resolve Incidents and Service Requests at the first point of contact, therefore second level support skills are essential.

You will be responsible for providing appropriate support and accurate answers to resolve end user issues or queries, receiving, logging and managing calls from UKI staff using the Service Desk Management System (Service Desk Plus) and taking ownership of user problems and following up the status of problems on behalf of the user and communicating progress in a timely manner. You will also be liaising with vendors and third parties for support, and other teams and individuals.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience of working in a Service Desk environment and supporting users with a good working knowledge of the IT Support industry, and preferably be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or hold a relevant professional qualification. It is highly desirable for applicants to have recent experience in directly supporting large organisations with over 3000 users, preferably in the public/third sector, and Microsoft Certified Professional qualifications would be an advantage.

There will be a requirement in this role to travel to London no more than 4 times per year.
