£14,500 - 16,000
I have a great opportunity for a Facilities Assistant to work in a prestigious education facility in Manchester. This role will work alongside a Facilities Manager and be responsible for the security of the premises and it's contents including the operation of fire and security alarms, lighting, heating, plumbing and general porter age within the facilities.
You will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills combined with proven experience working in a similar environment.
The role:
*Security of the premises and its contents
*Report all health and safety hazards to the Facilities Manager for example, faulty wiring, equipment, loose slates/roof tiles
*Assisting the Facilities Manager and other designated key-holders, with the security of the buildings and grounds at all times.
*Monitor and maintain the intruder and fire alarm systems.
*Open and close the buildings as required, including for events outside the day and occasional weekends.
*Respond to emergency call outs, as necessary, to take appropriate action and when necessary make the premises secure.
*Support the Facilities Manager with the supervision of the cleaning staff
*Monitor the state of repair and decoration of the buildings dealing with them where possible
*Liaise with outside contractors and supervise their work, to ensure all jobs are carried out to agreed standards
*Preparing the premises for various events and functions.
*Driving the minibuses as and when required
What you will need:
*Experience of dealing with a variety of general maintenance tasks
*Knowledge of plumbing or joinery highly desirable
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations
*Ability to work well as part of a team as well as supervise occasionally
*Excellent presentation and communication skills
*Ability to prioritise workload
*Outstanding customer service skills
*Willingness to work shift patterns Monday - Friday
*Flexible to work occasional evenings or weekends for open days or events
*A clean driving licence is essential
*Must pass an Enhanced Criminal Record Check

Rotating shift pattern - 37 hours per week between the hours of 7 - 7.15pm
