A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and ambitious procurement professional to join an established market leading manufacturing organisation as a Buyer.

Joining the procurement and supply chain team as a buyer, you will be responsible for a variety of commodity groups across two distinct and demanding production environments, proactively managing your material requirements in order to mitigate production exceptions. You will be a flexible, approachable, self-motivated individual and join an engaged team that are commencing an exciting journey of change. Your knowledge of MRP and works order systems, ability to read technical drawings and understanding of BOMs will enable you to hit the ground running.

This role would suite an experienced buyer or material controller from a medium volume manufacturing environment who recognises the commercial value that supply chain bring to a business. You will be able to build internal relationships from scratch and be tenacious in closing actions fully. You will be product passionate, be able to work alone and integrate seamlessly with the team. You will set personal direction and prioritise your workload to maximise business benefits and you will have an extraordinary attention to detail. You will be able and willing to travel and will hold a full driving licence.

Role - Buyer
Salary - £30000 - £33000 + benefits

Experience required for Buyer application:

- Proven procurement experience at Buyer level within technical manufacturing and production
- Experience of working in direct liaison with production, design and engineering teams and with / from technical technical engineering drawings
- Commercial acumen application to gain commercial advantage via cost down negotiation and preference SLA agreement
- Comfortable in leading day to day operational production purchasing, expediting and materials control as well as more advanced procurement planning and development activity
- Advanced EXCEL skills
- MCIPS / part CIPS qualification beneficial
- Experience in supporting NPI / NPD from a procurement and supply perspective
- Proven ability in managing and developing supplier relationships
