PR Manager 12 Month FTC
PR Manager required for a 12 month fixed-term contract with a membership organisation working in the utilities sector.
As PR Manager, you will be responsible for driving activities and creating opportunities to raise the organisation's profile, focusing mainly on delivering the PR and Public Affairs strategy. You will ensure that all members, employees, and stakeholders are kept informed through communications and press releases, establish effective relationships with other PR and Communications teams, and develop and manage the awards strategy. In this role, you'll be devising, developing, and executing an effective PR strategy, coordinating all PR activities, defining the key business messages, developing strong relationships with journalists, researching and writing communications, working closely with the PR and Communications teams and the policy and research team, and building productive stakeholder relationships.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be an experienced PR and public affairs professional, commercially driven with exceptional communication skills drawn from a B2B service background, and ideally with a related qualification or membership (e.g. CIM, CIPR, CIPD). You'll excel at building relationships, writing for a variety of audiences, and delivering high quality work to tight deadlines, and should be confident, motivated, dedicated, proactive, and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
You should have proven experience of managing PR campaigns across the full range of marketing channels, including copywriting and content management, and within a B2B environment, of developing and implementing marketing strategies and of building stakeholder and media agency relationships, and of developing a company voice. An understanding of either the utilities sector and/or membership organisations would be advantageous, but is certainly not a prerequisite. As a person, you should have exceptional written and verbal communications skills, excellent interpersonal and advisory skills, and be happy to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. Strong organisational and time management skills are a must, as are planning and project management skills, and the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
