A Junior Software Tester is now required to join an award winning, market leading Software Company in Birmingham. You will be joining a dynamic, creative and forward thinking team comprising of a mixture of QA and software development professionals.

The Junior Software Tester will work as part of a cross functional self-organising SCRUM team and be involved with all SCRUM ceremonies to help refine, plan, deliver and deploy quality software solutions.

The successful candidate can be a strong graduate who has a passion QA/ Software Testing and understand this importance this plays in the Development Lifecycle

As a junior member of the team you will follow a personal development plan and work on with various testing tools that enable you to meet the needs of the team to ensure quality is baked into our software solutions

The Junior Software Tester will be responsible for the following:

• Plan, execute and document the testing of our software suite using a combination of manual and automated testing.

• Work closely with Developers as part of a SCRUM team to test user stories as they're being developed.

• Collaborate with Product Owners from the onset to understand requirements, define test cases and suggest conditions of acceptance.

• Log and help to prioritise defects using TFS.

• Update our bank of regression scripts on a continual basis.

• Testing API's with manual testing then turning them into automated test builds.

Essential needs of the Junior Software Tester:

• Graduate calibre or equivalent.

• Demonstrable experience in the whole testing life cycle including knowledge of various test methodologies, definition of test plans and test scripts, test execution and raising defects.

• Excellent written communication skills with experience writing comprehensive and clear, well-structured documentation.

• Ability to work in an environment which provides a responsive customer experience.


• Experience of working within a SCRUM environment.

• Experience of testing high availability systems.

• Experience directly querying databases.

• Experience testing web services and HTML 5 web applications.

• ISTQB-BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level.

The Junior Software Tester can expect a starting salary of £25,000 and work in an open plan, vibrant office where you will be made to feel welcomed.
