Building Surveyor / Insurance Surveyor - Wolverhampton


My client is a successful and rapidly growing company who now require a Building Surveyor / Insurance Surveyor to support the company in its further expansion. Working from the Wolverhampton Head Office the successful Surveyor will be joining a really great team with a solid client base and good opportunities for development.

Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) + car allowance

Please note we are happy to receive applications from college leavers as well as tradesmen looking to progress from the tools and into a surveying role.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful insurance Surveyor / Building Surveyor will be working as part of an established team in the company’s fast growing insurance claims sector; works will range from around £1,500 up to about £10/20k and will fall within about a 40/50-mile radius of the Wolverhampton office.


  • Visiting sites (private domestic properties) following an insurance claim notification
  • Undertaking a survey and producing a detailed scope/report on the insurance/restoration work damage to the property (escape of water, flood, fire etc.)
  • Checking some pre-scoped works and editing where necessary
  • Entering full details of the report onto the client group estimating live web portals
  • Providing costs of works to be carried out
  • Providing a list of materials required to complete the job

What skills/experience will you need?

This Building Surveyor / Insurance Surveyor position requires the applicant to have a good working knowledge in the building/restoration industry.

This is a fast paced industry and our client is looking for someone who is dynamic in their approach.

Ideally, you will have a proven track record of producing accurate scope of works on private domestic properties repairs and experience in the insurance repairs industry would be a distinct advantage.

You will need an excellent knowledge of trades and relevant costs within this industry and be able to understand/interpret and produce an accurate schedule of works.

Applicants must be able to drive (have a full UK licence and own vehicle) and be fully conversant with computer data entry (full training given on our systems) to enable the uploading of reports/surveys.

Package details

In addition to the Insurance Surveyor / Building Surveyor salary (negotiable dependent upon experience around £22 - £26k) you will receive a car allowance.

The office is located in Wolverhampton and you will need to live within a commutable distance from this (ideally within about 20-30 miles).
