Reed Accountancy are looking to appoint a Purchase Ledger Manager Assistant on behalf of a nationally recognised organisation in North Bristol. This is a permanent opportunity offering a salary up to £25,000.

The main purpose of this role is to assist in the smooth running of the Central Accounts Payable and South West Region Purchase Ledger Teams and be the primary assistant to the Purchase Ledger Manager.

Main duties include:

• To assist the Purchase Ledger Manager by providing guidance to all users of the Purchase Ledger in all aspects of process and legislative governance.
• To champion the application of HMRC construction industry scheme, increasing awareness throughout the business and providing detailed guidance to all employees as required.
• CIS statement reconciliations and monthly submissions to HMRC

• Validate details on new vendor applications
• Entry of new approved vendor applications into the Finance System
• Vendor account maintenance to include bank, address, insurance updates
• Scanning supplier account maintenance documents into finance system
• Entry of various branch and central cost overhead invoices.
• Posting of all vehicle transactions for fleet invoices
• Review and posting of payment requisitions
• Scanning invoice documents into finance system
• Other purchase ledger reporting where required
• Any such other duties that are commensurate with the grade of the post

To be considered for this vacancy, it is important that you meet the following requirements:

• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Sufficient demonstrable experience in a purchase ledger department at senior Admin level to include some supervisory/ light management duties. Posting invoices, processing payments and conducting supplier account reconciliations.
• A solid working knowledge of the HMRC Construction Industry Scheme is essential to this role.
You must be able to provide scope decisions quickly and accurately and be sufficiently confident to offer guidance at an intermediate level. You will be required to demonstrate this at interview.
• Understanding of Purchase Ledger Function and Accounts Payable processes 
• A good understanding of all Legislation and VAT governance relating to invoice processing.
• Proficient in the use of Excel (to intermediate level: pivot tables, Vlookup)
• Excellent attention to detail
