Lean Construction Consultant
We are currently working alongside a leading global Engineering organisation, as they search for an experienced and enthusiastic Lean Construction Consultant to join their expanding team in Central Manchester. Our customer is a leading service provider in Project Management Construction Management (PMCM), delivering projects at all stages from initial studies, design through to construction and maintenance, across the UK and also internationally. Their projects span a number of sectors, including Rail, Highways, Water / Utilities, Energy and Aviation, all of which are of critical long-term importance to the general public, local and national economy and industry alike.
Our team primarily consults on business performance improvement and one of our major focuses for this is working with design teams on the implementation of Production Management (also known as Last Planner in Lean Construction). However, the work they do spans a range of other innovative performance and business improvement initiatives. They are part of our customer's UK PMCM (Project Management / Construction Management) arm and function as internal management consultants to the other internal business units as well as external consultants and contractors. This has the benefit of allowing their team to work on a multitude of projects, which are often high-value and high-profile, as well as a range of sectors from Highways to Rail, from Utilities to Sustainable Solutions, from Nuclear to Buildings & Infrastructure.
The position would include working with Engineers and Project Managers to improve project delivery through practical application of Lean concepts and industry Project Management best practice. The role also requires frequent facilitation of sessions, giving of presentations and coaching teams and individuals.
We anticipate that the successful applicant for this exciting new position for a Lean Construction Consultant will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
*have a strong foundation in Lean concepts in a Construction / Consulting Engineering setting, though an eagerness to learn further is also a must.
*be comfortable at successfully managing / delivering facilitation of sessions, giving of presentations and coaching teams and individuals.
*should also hold a Masters (or equivalent) in Construction Management or related Civil Engineering / Project Management Discipline (or commensurate commercial experience).
