Raglan House

Raglan House is a 25 bed mental health hospital designed to provide an environment which promotes mental health recovery for women, by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity.

Job Role

You will be encouraged to contribute to, and influence the development of active care. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you must be able to show initiative, demonstrating clear decision making and organisational skills. You will be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient programs of care. You will have a focus on risk assessment and risk assessment strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the care program approach are met.

Additionally you will support empowerment of the patients with particular regard to their dignity, rights and advice.

Individuals should be fully conversant with the Mental Health Act and it’s recent updates; have an understanding of the latest nursing practices as well as the local and national agenda’s that impact on nursing practice and patient care.

Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and just like our young people and Service Users you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support.

Candidate Profile

To be successful for this post, you will be a fully qualified Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) and have experience of working with vulnerable adults with mental health issues, preferably within a secure setting. You will have experience of formulation and care planning, and of writing reports in relation to MHA Tribunals and managers’ panels and so therefore a good understanding of the MHA and its applications in supporting patients would be desirable. Experience of supervising a staff team is also desirable.
