Restaurant General Manager
We’re on the hunt for an inspiring, personable and experienced manager to step into a varied role in a busy restaurant and brewery. You will report directly in to the owners of this family run business and you will help us look after the three things we love more than anything: our people, our food and our beer.
We love all of our customers, from the ones who have never been before to the ones who come in every week. The ones who find us through Instagram and the ones that find us whilst walking home. We need every single one of them to know how much we appreciate them and that will be the biggest part of your role. From helping customers design their perfect night, to dealing with complaints - you will be key point of contact.
As well as customers old and new, our staff are also incredibly important to us. Wherever possible, we employ from within and have chefs and GM’s that have been with us for 10 years plus. We must be doing something right, surely?! You will be required to empower and develop a range of people, from pizza chefs to front of house - we aim to train and retain in order to offer the best customer service possible.
We brew all kinds of beer on site and in site - guests can enjoy a meal and watch our brewer at work. They can also enjoy tank fresh beer, which is pumped directly to tap from the onsite brew house. Staff have to know their beer, so if you know your bock from your dunkel (or are at least willing to learn!) then we can cheers to that.
We are masters, not Jacks. A refined number of dishes are cooked from fresh; pizza in wood fired ovens and mussels are cooked in site, in front of guests. With freshness, comes hard work - stock checking and ordering needs to be managed in minute detail and you will support the head chef to ensure we deliver on our own very high standards.
You will have real, hands experience; we love to see people grow - the early parts of your career will interest us just as much as what you’re up to now. If you’ve had experience in a busy kitchen or bustling bar you’re already our kind of person.
And as for the now? Well, our guess is you’ll already be on the front line, managing either an independent or branded facia. You’ll be on the lookout for your next challenge, perhaps you want to be closer to the action and closer to the management team. You will be looking for a small, independent group where you can genuinely make a site your own.
