An Implementation Manager is required at a Large Public Sector for a 7 month contract.

The Implementation Manager is responsible for the effective planning, co-ordination and implementation of all technical products and activities necessary to implement full system upgrades, Infrastructure upgrades, scans and ad-hoc activities on the account from multiple solution providers. This work normally takes place outside of normal office hours to avoid impact on live services and the post holder will be expected to be available 24/7 and at short notice.

The responsibilities of the Implementation Manager require the ability to

• Produce and maintain the Consolidated Implementation Schedule.
• Manage / co-ordinate the implementation activities for the Release.
• Set up and manage the alert text messages and send appropriate messages as required by the Project Manager as detailed on the Consolidated Implementation Schedule.
• Identify all resources and stakeholders for the release and confirm engagement.
• Progress the consolidated implementation schedule and authorise all teams involved in the Implementation to move to the next work package/stage when instructed .
• Perform other tasks as required to ensure that the delivery is carried out at minimum risk in line with the overall project schedule.

• Facilitate Checkpoint meetings / calls during the implementation window.
• Issue reports at the end of the Go-Live Implementation and complete Post Implementation Review (lessons learned) if required.
• Advise and liaise with other groups on the best practices for implementing change on the Live DWP estate and to ensure that process is followed with an objective overview and to strict guidelines and principles.
• Provide regular reports and information on implementation activities when required
• Implement multiple upgrades at the same time and co-ordinate any dependencies for a smooth transition to live with other Implementation, project or delivery managers
• Ability to work as part of a team but also independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Able to comfortably chair meetings with various levels of staff across multi-vendor situations. DWP, BPDTS, DXC, IBM etc).
• Support collaborative working with teams, stakeholders and suppliers across multiple vendors
• Understanding of the escalation process, who to contact and why on a delivery weekend.
• Solid understanding of the Microsoft office package Desirable Skills
• Understanding of Service Management and live service expectations
• Knowledge of DWP IT estate
• Understanding Forward Schedule of Change and working with it and its team
• Change Management Process/ CAB / Technow and working with the teams
• Microsoft Project
• Understanding of the project lifecycle and some Project Management experience a benefit.
