This is a fast-paced role and our client needs an experienced person to come in and hit the floor running, pick up on existing relationships and make new contacts which can impact the business in a positive manner.
Implement a supplier development plan to improve the performance in the areas of cost, quality, lead time etc.
Analyses market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability
Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilises appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service
Managing strategic relationships with current suppliers
New product and supplier sourcing (local and international)
Build and nurture relationships
Selecting new products and reviewing the old
Finding the right suppliers/ Pre-qualifying and on boarding new suppliers
Ensuring the products are delivered on time
Reacting to any changes in customer demand
Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones
- Attending trade events - nationally and internationally
Visiting factories - international travel required and previous exposure to this
Identifying a considered collection of crafted products, materials, fabrics, stitching and finishes etc are combined together to deliver truly bespoke products that blends edgy styles complimenting the more traditional.
Ensure special care is being taken to synchronize the design team and client specs to innovate new and distinct designs in each and every product range.
Pitching ideas to senior management
Close collaboration with internal stakeholders to fully understand requirements
Liaising with suppliers and manufactures regularly, maintaining and building relationships.
Collaborate with the Design team to achieve innovative marketable ranges, continually improving product quality
In a nutshell you will be accountable for procuring products for the business, as well as market observation & defining product ranges & qualities through conducting product range analysis. Furthermore, you will prepare, conduct & maintain negotiations & contracts with suppliers, maintain ongoing communication & relationship management with suppliers & define product retail prices.
