Dog Training Coordinator (Puppy)

This is an exciting opportunity to assist the development of puppies in their early life.

Our client is an assistance dog charity which transforms the lives of disabled people through partnership with their specially trained assistance dogs.

Position: Dog Training Coordinator
Location: Osgathorpe, Leicestershire
Contract type: Part Time, Fixed Term 12 Months
Hours: 4 days per week
Salary: £17,438 to £21,798 FTE per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role:

They have an exciting opportunity for someone to join their Puppy Training & Breeding Department as a Dog Training Co-ordinator. This important role will be based at their Midlands Training Centre in Osgathorpe, Leicestershire, working within a defined geographical location in the Derby and Stafford area (please see map below) in order to visit their puppies in the region.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring the progress of the puppies to ensure they receive the highest standard of socialisation and early training in order to maximise their chances of becoming qualified.

In this interesting and rewarding role you will be responsible for providing on-going training, support and advice to volunteer Puppy Parents, carrying out home visits and classes for Puppy Parents and recruiting and monitoring Puppy Parents.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have experience of training puppies and demonstrable dog training knowledge and skills, ideally with puppy training experience. You will have a working knowledge of the assessment of puppy and dog behaviour and traits as well as coaching and training skills.

Additionally, you will have a current UK driving licence or be able to provide transport. Ideally you will be located within the boundary for the satellite or close to their training centre.
