Senior Contracts Manager - Private Surgical Hospital Group

Bolton

Salary- up to £60,000 DOE

We at Smithson Gray are currently recruiting for a Senior contracts manager for a rapidly growing private surgical hospital group in the UK. We are looking to speak to experienced Senior Contract Managers with In-depth knowledge of standard NHS contracts, CCG contracts, bid tendering, reviewing policies, financial management and reporting

The Contract Manager will be responsible for the development and management of the groups NHS contracts in this new environment ensuring that:

  • Liaising with the Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG's) to enable effective provision of services and the group is seen as a key provider for commissioned services,
  • Actively seek out new procurement and contract opportunities, ensuring these are effectively pursued either through in-house bids or working with external bid writing partners,
  • Act as a point of contact, and lead on the management of contracts, ensuring that all issues are effectively addressed and managed,
  • Ensure the organisation is fully compliant with the relevant CCG requirements, clinical quality and key performance indicators,
  • The groups contracts are managed to ensure that all work is allocated to the correct CCG’s within the agreed financial standards and structure,
  • Lead the tender process for commissioned services with new and existing CCG’s for work at current and new company sites,
  • Liaising with Commissioning groups heads and leads, you will hold and develop the key relationships with our CCG’s,
  • Work with operational teams to ensure that patient choice is effectively championed and provided,
  • Ensure that our consultant led AQP services are able to flourish in all CCG areas where we are active and in those areas we wish to grow,
  • Engage with the relevant stakeholders when necessary wherever patient rights and quality healthcare is challenged,
  • Identifies and promotes change within existing contracts,
  • Lead the current Contracts team ensuring they develop in line with changing requirements of the market.
  • Ensuring the business meets its legal contractual requirements


It is essential that you have done a similar role in/with the NHS previously. Have a lots of procurement applications experience and an in depth knowledge of the NHS.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of National Tariff / PbR and in depth knowledge of standard NHS contracts
  • Educated to Degree Level, or, qualified by extensive and demonstrable experience in the field of NHS Public Sector Contracts and Contract Management.
  • Excellent written communication, (reports, policy text, correspondence)
  • Excellent verbal communication, face to face and by telephone
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside of the company
  • Proven knowledge and experience of contract management within the NHS or healthcare sector, including experience of dealing with the NHS Standard Contract and / or legislation / policies affecting this contract.
  • Experience of creating performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the current NHS landscape.
  • IT Literate, including proficiency in Word and Excel, and in web based research.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision.
  • An innovative approach to problem solving.
  • A flexible approach to work, enthusiastic and committed
  • Ability to take on new areas of work previously outside existing experience.
  • A good understanding of the National Tariff payment system
  • Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight and often changing timescales.
  • Highly organised and systematic with attention to detail and accuracy

Summary
My client is looking to pay a salary of up to £45,000 DOE plus bonus and benefits along with additional ongoing training and development.
