We have a rare opportunity to join one of the UK/ Europe’s most talked about Software Companies for a In House IT / Technology Lawyer / Legal Counsel / Paralegal with Fluency in French or German or Spanish – to join a fast growing Market Leader in Enterprise Data Management and Evaluation in London. – My Client requires the In House IT / Technology Lawyer / Legal Counsel to handle legal company matters including all aspects of contracts and negotiations associated with the company with an emphasis on software licensing in the UK and EMEA.

The ideal candidate will have Fluent English ideally with a 2nd Language, German or French or Spanish and will be responsible for the following: drafting contracts for new clients and customers across EMEA, managing the negotiations for client and partner agreements, understanding legal issues with the ability to create legal, analytical and professional content and assisting in-house counsel with all aspects of the legal lifecycle.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements with customers, partners and suppliers, including software license, maintenance, and cloud computing and professional services contracts.

• Devise commercially-oriented and practical solutions to novel and complex contractual issues, based on a balanced risk analysis.

• Ensure that contracts adhere to company policies, procedures and applicable laws (including revenue recognition rules), and liaise with other internal functions and subject matter experts as appropriate.

• Act as a fiduciary for the company, by helping to promote compliance across day-to-day business activities, and providing training and counselling on a variety of compliance-related matters.

• Advise, and collaborate effectively with, stakeholders across all levels of the business organization, up to and including Senior Management.

• Keep abreast of applicable laws, regulations and industry guidance that impact licensing, cloud, consulting and mobility businesses.

• Participate in special projects within the legal department as assigned, including efforts to develop, implement and enhance processes and policies that improve transaction velocity without any material increase in risk

• Proactive management and tracking of all contract renewals

• Updating contracts database, best practices templates, new SOW and SLA documents

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Outstanding academic record.

• Lawyer qualified in England & Wales, or another EU jurisdiction (French / German / Spanish).

• 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm and/or an in-house counsel role, with a strong focus on the technology sector (including the negotiation of complex software licensing and hosted services agreements).

• Ability to draft, negotiate and provide legal advice fluently in English language is essential. Proficiency in additional European languages is also desirable (especially French, Spanish, German).

• Excellent negotiator with strong influencing skills and a talent for non-adversarial, win-win negotiations.

• Good knowledge of applicable data privacy, anti-bribery, export compliance and competition laws.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.

• Excellent judgment and ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities, in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Highest degree of personal and professional integrity and ethics

• Bi Lingual in English with either French or German or Spanish
