Accounts Assistant/Payroll

This is an exciting opportunity to join a very busy company based in Potters Bar who provide Property maintenance and commercial cleaning.

Purpose of the job/duties

This role is 40% preparing sales invoices, 40% payroll and 20% administration to include preparing and analysing reports for fortnightly and monthly management meetings. You will need to be able to use Excel to an advance level to include sub totals, pivot tables and V look up.

  • Prepare Sales Invoices monthly

  • Email invoices to the clients

  • Prepare and upload invoice to Bibby (factoring company)

  • Dealing with any invoice queries from clients

  • Creating new client records on Xero accounting system

  • Check new employee packs and employees to Payroll and Ezitracker

  • Update payroll with amendments to staff

  • Process CRB checks on line

  • Process Nest Pension

  • Produce weekly payroll report using Ezitracker

  • Calculate and process holiday pay

  • Produce report to analyse weekly payroll and budgeted hours

  • Produce report to analyse difference between amount charged and hours worked

  • Attending fortnightly and monthly meetings to discuss payroll and extra charges

Person Specification/experience required

  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of Xero accounting software or a similar version
  • Experience of payroll preparation
  • Good working knowledge of Excel to include, sub totals, pivot tables and V look up
  • Be an excellent communicator, both telephone and face to face
  • Passionate about quality and attention to detail
  • Capable of multi taking, organising and prioritising own workload and coordinating with others within the team

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Salary £25,000
