This position, working for a leading professional body, would suit a candidate educated to degree level (or equivalent) who has worked within an awarding body or education related background and with proven experience in an assessment related role. Clear, confident communication skills are essential as you will chair meetings and work closely with subject experts, industry professionals and students. Excellent attention to detail and ability to proofread accurately is vital as is an aptitude for statistics.

The role will involve co-ordinating the production of coursework assessments and ensuring coursework assignments are relevant and up to date. This will require liaising with subject experts and professionals and ensuring compliance with the regulatory bodies. This is a deadline driven role which will require a methodical, organised approach as you will be managing several projects simultaneously. You will need to be proficient in using databases and spreadsheets to produce reports and statistics and will need to be highly competent in MS Office applications.

The role will involve:

  • Building relationships with subject experts, markers, assessors and internal stakeholders
  • Managing day to day operations of assessors and their teams
  • Developing and understanding customer needs and motivating others
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained
  • Interpreting, collating, presenting and drawing conclusions from data
  • Ensuring assignments and syllabi are formatted in correct house style
  • Assisting in critical analysis and proofing of assessments
  • Recommending new processes and ideas to the team
  • Ensuring all project plans and schedules are kept up to date
  • Assisting in the quality assurance of marking and remarking
  • Monitoring marking teams
  • Providing feedback to assessors and markers
  • Liaising with trainers to create a robust training agenda
