Volunteer Support Officer – Sova METRO Job Reference: VSO1245 Base: Stafford Salary Range: £19,482 - £21,147 plus Benefits Starting salary: £19,482 Hours: 35 Hours per week, Full-time Project/contract funding end date: March 2019 This is an exciting new opportunity to join our METRO team in Stafford.  In a single year our volunteers typically give up the equivalent of 45,000 hours to support, befriend and mentor people who need them; to let them know there is someone on their side, to offer practical help, advice and guidance, as well as motivation and understanding.  Someone who can question, challenge and encourage without judgement. The Volunteer Support Officer role is critical in ensuring that we provide the right support for our volunteers to carry out this important work.  The role requires excellent understanding, knowledge and expertise in supporting the recruitment and training of our volunteers and supervising their activities on an ongoing basis. The role works alongside other members of the team to ensure that volunteers are matched to the appropriate client and that their relationship is safe, effective and supportive. The post holder will be expected to work some weekends and evenings.
